1. Who we are

SightQuests is an independent travel-discovery platform operated from the Netherlands. Using our website means you agree to these terms.

2. Your account

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your password confidential. You can delete your account at any time from your profile settings.

3. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to disrupt the service, scrape content at scale (route data excepted, see Routes and route data), misuse login flows, or use the platform to harm others. We may suspend accounts that do.

4. Content

Sights, stories, quests, and other editorial content on SightQuests belong to SightQuests or the respective rights holders, except route data (see below). You may link to pages and share short excerpts; please do not republish full content without permission.

5. Routes and route data

Routes are planning aids. Route lines, distances, elevation figures and GPX files are drawn from open data and our own checks. They can be incomplete, out of date or simply wrong: trails get rerouted, bridges close, and weather and snow change what’s passable. On the ground, follow waymarks, signs and instructions from park authorities, and decide for yourself whether a route suits your fitness, your gear and the conditions that day. You’re responsible for your own safety on a walk or hike. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn’t allow us to limit.

Route data is open data. Route lines and the files we offer for them (GPX and GeoJSON) are available under the Open Database License 1.0, as set out on our credits page. The rules on scraping and republishing in these terms don’t apply to route data, and nothing in these terms restricts what that licence allows.

6. No warranty

We curate carefully, but details about places (opening hours, access, prices) change. Always verify critical information before you travel. The service is provided “as is” without warranties.

7. Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. If changes are material, we will notify registered users by email.
